Frequently Asked Questions:
Why am I being billed for services covered by my dental plan?
^TOP
Billing statements are processed at the end of each month. It is our
office policy to always send patients a billing statement when there
is an outstanding balance on the account. This policy allows
patients to be aware of their account status at all times. You may
delay paying your bill until you have received notice from your
dental plan or you can call our business line with any questions.
Do you accept Medical Assistance?
^TOP
We accept Medical Assistance programs sponsored by Medica. We are
currently not accepting new patients covered under the Minnesota
Healthcare Program division of Medical Assistance.
Can I choose my Doctor and or hygienist?
^TOP
You have the right to request any doctor on our staff at any time.
We will always do our best to accommodate your needs. It is a good
idea, however, to have a primary doctor for your dental needs so
they have a chance to become familiar with you and your dental
conditions. On the same
note you can also request to see or not to see a particular
hygienist on our staff.
How do I request my records to be transferred?
^TOP
If you need your records to be transferred to a new office, simply
give us a call. We will need name and address of the dentist to
receive the records or you may pick them up yourself. We request a
full weeks notice for the transfer of records.
Can I receive copies of my x-rays?
^TOP
We will gladly make copies of x-rays for you. A couple days notice
is appreciated.
How long does it take to get in to see a hygienist or doctor?
^TOP
The hygienists are typically booked 3-6 weeks out while the doctors
schedules are typically booked 1-3 weeks out. If you have specific
times or hygienists you like to see we recommend booking your
maintenance visits well in advance.
Will you see patients on an emergency basis?
^TOP
The doctors and staff make every effort to see emergency patients as
soon as possible. Call at the first sign of a problem and we will do
our best to accommodate your needs.
What age should I start bringing my child in for dental visits?
^TOP
According the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry your child
should see a dentist after the first tooth has erupted or by their
first birthday.
At what age are patients considered adult?
^TOP
For the purpose of preventative hygiene visits, age 14 is considered
an adult by our office. Please note that your insurance company may
use different age guidelines to determine child and adult covered
services.
